5-8 Years Old | Boys & Girls

Regular Season Registrations – $205

We are full steam ahead planning for the start of Junior Community Football Competitions from the weekend of 17 – 19 July 2020. Your safety and wellbeing remain our number one priority and we will continue to train and prepare accordingly using the AFL Return to Play Framework.

Where Champions Begin

The NAB AFL Auskick program is where it all starts and is the best introduction for kids into the world of Australian Football. Auskickers run, jump, kick, pass and have fun while learning the basics of football.

Through skill games, activities and modified match practice, participants will learn and familiarise themselves with all the skills required to become the next AFL champion!

AFL Auskick is fun for the kids and stress-free for parents and is facilitated with the help of parents and volunteers and managed by the community, for the community.

No matter if you know the game or not, Auskick at the Mosman Swans is inclusive for everyone aged no younger than turning 5 in 2020, and no older than 8 in 2020. If your child is older than 8 and is interested in Auskick, please contact us to discuss.

Auskick 2020

Auskick in 2020 will be divided into three groups:

4-5 year olds – skills are taught through a series of fun games and drills by volunteer parent coaches/assistants

6-7 year olds – skills continue to be taught through drills, with the introduction of game play to prepare children for junior football. This is a safe, no tackle game.

Girls – there will be an opportunity for girls to join a dedicated girls group for all ages, to increase confidence and feed into our U10 girls team.

As part of the Auskick program, there is the option for 7 year old boys and girls to play in a home and away U8s competition. Further information will be provided at the start of the season.

Due to Council works at Allan Border Oval, Auskick will be held at 8am Sundays at Middle Head Oval in 2020.

Parent Involvement

Auskick is a parent volunteer run program. It is expected that all parents will join in with activities and assist with games and drills.

Parents are encouraged to participate under the guidance of the coaches and they are amply rewarded by fun quality time in physical activity with their children.

The success of the program and the enjoyment of the children rests on the level of parent involvement achieved – please expect to be part of each session if you register your child to play. You don’t need to know anything about AFL – information to support parents is available online and through our club contacts.

Uniforms and Other Gear

The AFL supplies Auskickers with a welcome pack with a ball and various other promotional items, sent directly to your postal address.

Mosman Swans has an online shop where club uniform can be purchased – this is not compulsory for Auskick, but is compulsory to play U8s. Visit the online shop.

Please note, this is the only place to buy uniforms.
